AMPS TV’s THE REAL: “Real Entertainers And Losers” (Which One Are You?): A Talent Show like No Other, Created with an On-line Viewing Audience in Mind
(Indianapolis, IN) Are you, The Real Rapper, The Real Poet, The Real Fashion Designer? THE REAL puts like talent against like talent. Unlike most talent competitions that cater to one specific talent or others that put all entities of talent against each other for one prize, THE REAL places comics up against comics, fashion designers against fashion designers, hair stylists against hair stylists, and so forth, with each category‟s grand prize being $1,000.00 and a “REAL” Big Trophy. AMPS TV‟s show THE REAL is Who Got Jokes, Project Runway, America‟s Got Talent, American Idol, My Model Looks Better Then Your Model and other talent shows and competitions all in one place. Unlike the shows just mentioned where viewers have to wait for a certain day of the week and a specific time to enjoy their preferred form of entertainment, THE REAL allows the viewer to be in control of what day and time to watch. Here‟s how it works: Contestants report to The Center Point, located at 3334 N. Arlington Avenue, Indianapolis, IN on the last Saturday of each month at 9:00 p.m. Categories available for competition include: comics, actors/actresses, singers, rappers, barbers, hairstylists, poets, and fashion designer/model teams. Contestants must pay a $5 venue cover charge. There is no other fee to register or compete. Audience members will be able to view and experience each round of competition live by either attending the competition in person at the venue, or by logging onto www.ampstv.com to watch live streaming video of the event. Audience members coming to the venue in person must also pay a $5 venue cover charge. Immediately following the live competition, the episode will be available for viewing on www.ampstv.com. This is where viewers get to decide who‟s REAL and who‟s not. Viewers will be able to log on to view the episode and vote for their favorite to move on to the next round. Voting will be open for 10 days immediately following the live competition. After the 10 day voting period is over, the video episode will remain available for viewing. Winners from each category after the 10 day voting period will then move on to the next round and compete against a new challenger. There will be a total of 10 rounds. The last competitor standing in each category after the tenth round will win the grand prize for that category. Prizes include $1,000 cash, a „REAL‟ Big Trophy, & more!!!
The Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. Emerging Artist Grant
Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. was a founding board member of the Arts Council of Indianapolis in 1987. It is through the lasting generosity of Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. that we offer this newest fellowship opportunity to emerging artists throughout central Indiana.
The Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. Emerging Artist Fellowship Program awards two $3,500 fellowships each year to qualified and talented artists in music, dance, theatre, literature, media and/or the visual arts. The program consists of two distinct components. The first component, a monetary award in the amount of $3,500, will be awarded for supplies, instruction, workshops, studio or rehearsal space, or other uses specifically related to the growth and development of the artist’s artistic work. The second component of the program involves a unique professional experience opportunity to which many artists may not have access until later in their careers. The Robert D. Beckmann, Jr. Emerging Artist Fellowship program seeks to introduce and provide experiences, connections, and relationships with professional arts institutions and professional artists in central Indiana.
